Instructions for Belt Adjustment

Belt running
Before adjusting the belt running, check that the machine is standing straight and that the drive and return drums and the idler rollers are at right angles to the conveyor frame.

It is expedient to carry out adjustment at the slowest speed. If the belt running is to be moved towards "E" (Figure 2), drive drum and return drum must be adjusted in the
directions of the arrows.

If adjustment of the drive drum and return drum is not sufficient, the idler rollers and the return rollers must also be adjusted.

If the conveyor belt is to run more to the left-hand side as seen in the direction of conveying (Figure 3), the left hand idler roller is moved back and the right-hand idler roller correspondingly forward. In the case of the return rollers - as seen in the running direction - the left-hand roller is moved forward and the right hand roller back. Proceed analogously if the conveyor belt is to run further to the right hand side.

Caution:
If the conveyor has no idler rollers, adjustment of rollers 1 to 6 is not necessary.

Belt tension
With straining screws (2) at the return drum of belt conveyors, the belt tensioning can be changed moving the tension plate (1) after having loosened the fastening screws/clamping device (3). By this way, the belt (4) will be loosened or tensioned.

After adjustment, the fastening screws/clamping devices have to be tightened again.

The belt is correctly tensioned when it can be deflected only slightly between two lower run rollers with the flat hand using moderate force.

Adjustment correct belt tension:
Place the conveyor belt loosely over drive and tail pulley.
Tighten the straining screws (2) evenly on right and left side by half turn.
Repeat tightening like this until the drive pulley carries the belt without slipping.
Load the conveyor belt stepwise until maximum material quantity.

EDELHOFF LOUVRE DAMPER Type: EJK

Comprising:
  1. The damper casing (1), sufficiently reinforced to cope with the indicated operating conditions and provided with flanges for mounting into the pipe or duct,
  2.  The damper blades (2), in a solid construction, which makes contact with the stop rail (3) on the whole periphery when the damper is closed,
  3.  The damper shafts (4), designed to cope with the acting forces,
  4.  The bearings (5), selected to avoid a hard movement of the damper blades (2) even under the indicated operating conditions,
  5.  The readjustable stuffing boxes (6), sealing off the passages of the damper shafts (4) through the casing (1),
  6.  The flap levers (7), connected by adjustable linkages (8).
  7. The flap levers (7), by adjustable pin jointed struts (9) connected.
The EDELHOFF LOUVRE DAMPER is self-supporting under the existing operating conditions. Special attention has been paid to operational reliability and easy maintenance when the damper has been designed.

INSULATION INSTRUCTIONS
Don’t insulate the damper-shaft bearings on both sides of the damper. The stuffing box shall be insulate
maximum up to the bearing support. In the area of the stuffing box, the insulation must be simply removable in because of maintenance-work on it.

STEP OF MOUNTING FAN

ESteps of mounting Fan (Langkah-Langkah Pemasangan Fan)
Mount the inferior part of the inlet box with the inferior part of the casing. Use ceramics cords for sealing. Place the inferior part of the fan on the concrete. Let +/- 50 mm below for the final concrete. Mount the anchor bolts and adjust the inferior part of the fan with the adjusting screws. The fan must be fixed on the foundations by means of sheet of fitting on each side of anchoring and must be tightened when all is of level and with good height.

Place the bearing support on the concrete. Let +/- 50 mm below for the final concrete. Mount he anchor bolts and adjust the support with the adjusting screws. These supports must be fixed on the foundations by means of sheet of fitting on each side of anchoring and must be tightened when all is of level and with good height.

Mount the rotor with inlet cones and fix the bearings on their supports. Fix the free bearing with all the axial gap behind the roller. The gap at the shaft pass must be the same all around. Fix the inlet cone with the inferior part of the fan (see detail B – Sheet 6). Turn the rotor by hand to see if any friction. Readjust if necessary

.

Mount the motor frame on the concrete. Let +/- 50 mm below for the final concrete. Mount the anchor bolts and adjust the frame with the adjusting screws. The frame must be fixed on the foundations by means of sheet of fitting on each side of anchoring and must be tightened when all is of level and with good height.

Mount the suprerior part of the casing. Use ceramic cords for sealing. Fix completely the 2 inlet cone with the superior part of the fan.

Mount the upper part of the inlet box. Use ceramic cords for sealing. Check all axes. Strictly tighten the nuts on the anchor bolts

Mount the stiffeners pipe in the inlet box.

Mount the shaft sealing and the cooling disc. Make the final concrete (use non-shrink concrete) and fill the anchor holes. After the drying up period (24 to 48 hours) fasten the bolts correctly. Mount the motor on the support with a gap of the 2 half coupling of 9 mm. Do the alignment of coupling (check motor shaft and fan shaft). Refer you to the coupling documentation.

Mount the damper. Use ceramic cords for sealing. Mount the regulation for the damper. Adjust the support for the actuator on the concrete and fix it. Fix the actuator on his support. And connect it with the damper. Adjust the OPEN/CLOSE on the actuator.

Mount on each bearing a PT100 and a VS068 (not CBV supply). Fill the bearings with oil (5,2 litre).

Mount the coupling guard, the shaft guard and the cooling disc guard.

Open the drain of the casing, let get out the water and after, close the drain.

Mount the security accessories.

Connect the motor and check the rotating direction.

Procedure of maintenance
- Clear regularly the inlet parts of the fan,
- Never let foreign matter in the casing,
- Remove traces and dust on the impeller; they are cause of dangerous balancing,
- Check the quality of the welding,
- Check regularly the fixation and the tightening of bolts,
- Check the lubrication of the bearings,
- Check the correct position of the shaft seal,
- Check the adequate working of the control equipments,
- Make sure that the impeller doesn’t rub against the shaped inlet,
- Check the coupling (wear of elastic parts),
- Check the alignment of motor and fan axis,
- Check the lubrication of the motor,
- Installed all the protection guards.

Lubrication
The bearings lubricated by oil are equipped on each side with lubrication holes. Those are not used to lubricate of the rollers but to fill the seal room. This grease is used to prevent impurities entering the bearing and to prevent oil to get out of the bearing. A little quantity of grease is necessary to fit this function. The grease to use is mineral type ALVANIA RL2 (or equivalent). This grease has to be replaced with the changing of the lubrication oil during the fan working.
The changes of oil are to be read in the following table:
